Are we awake to the part our body plays? We’re not perfect because we have too many ways to neglect our bodies. Yes, our body is important because Jesus himself needed a body to accomplish His plan on earth. He could not accomplish His reason for coming, nor help us accomplish our goals without a working body. I call this real a important part of our soul, spirit and a body. This Post is obviously focused on our body’s ability today, so how’s yours? Romans 8:10-13 also tells us the condition and attitude we should have toward our own body.
Our inter parts work hard to live, while our outer body is overweight working again us. This means our physical structure is working against us blocking God’s plan working for us. 2 Corinthians 4:7-8 says: “we have this treasure in earthen vessels, (body) so the excellent power of God is in us”. 2 Corinthians 5:1-2 also says: “If our earth house (body) is destroyed, we have a house not made with hands, but eternal in heaven”. Phil 3:21 says it this way: “who will transform our body that it be conformed to His glorious body, according to working He is able to subdue to Himself”. My Point: God wants us to take care of our soul , spirit, and our body. All three are part of God’s plan for us and His work.
Unless we change the nature, or plan of our body’s; it will be difficult for God to operate His plan through us. We become focused on weight, pills, difficulty getting around instead of our plan or God’s plan through us. True, many would love to be winners for Christ, but their physical conditions and energy affects this result.
I Corinthians 6:12-20 tells us that all things are lawful, but not all are helpful. We should not be brought under power by food. The body is for the Lord and the Lord is for the body as members of Christ’s body. Apostle Paul said it this way, our body is for the Lord. No, not for just self, but also given responsibility of taking care of our body for God’s use too. Remember, it was food from a tree that cause Adam to fall.
Why is it we focus hard on our soul and spirit but overlook our body. Has Jesus changed over the years, Hebrews 13:5 says Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. Jesus gave His body and 1 Peter 2:24 added Jesus bore our sins in His body on a tree”.
We could say the Lord is for the body delivering us from ourselves. We might also say that no one can exist outside Christ because our body is joined to Him? It may be time we include Christians see that our entire self, body, soul and spirit are vital to both God and ourselves, Christian and non-Christians.
