Is prayer communion with God or for us to manifest His glory? Or to glory for ourselves to get praise from others which is not remembering His Kingdom. How should be pray then? Of course God wants to supply our needs, but not willing to back up our selfish requests. Lord wants us to actually pray to our Father in heaven. In fact, true prayer He will hear and loves our enjoyment praying. Luke 11:2 said it this way: “When you pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done, as in heaven, so in earth”.
V 9-10 added: “Ask and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you. Everyone who asks receives, who seeks finds, and who knocks opened”.
Notice the words Hallowed be Your Name which is highly high-ranking among heaven but ill-treated by earthly people. God wants His true family to pray: “Hallowed be your name” if we really want to know and honor Him. No, God’s name is more than a title, in fact more of a revelation to all mankind. We learn His Godly nature that helps prefect us more as His children on earth. John 17:6, 26 says it best: “I have manifested Your name to those You have given Me out of world. You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word”.
V26 “I have declared to them Your name, and that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.” Yes, Hollowed be Your Name is more than a heart desire but actually a worship to our Heavenly Father, meaning God’s name is actually connected with God’s Glory. Even in Old Testament Ezekiel 36:21 He but pity for mine holy name, which house of Israel profaned among heathen, where they went”. God’s Name is important to us today for throughout history God wants to glorify His name though His family’s heart in both heaven and earth.
“Hallowed be Thy Name” is not only a desire but worship that starts prayer communication with God and praise of God for His mercy and grace. Jesus’ name is not something that’s just important, but a Holy Name not to be profaned by Christian or non-Christian because it is a holy cleansing all need to receive in life. No, God’s name is not just a title to address Him, but a revelation from our Lord God. May the Lords Spirit give us greater understanding of our Father in Heaven and earth. Give it some thought when you use words pertaining to God, heaven and His name place in your life.
