When I was training to be a pilot of a twin engine aircraft, one of the first things I learned was the importance of the two propellers being synchronized with each other. This does not happen automatically, or by accident. It requires that the pilot make it happen. God’s vehicle, His church body has to be in sync if it wants good performance. Can the airplane fly if propellers not synchronized? Yes. But you will not get ideal performance. Can Jesus’ church body operate without being in sync with rest of His body? Again, yes But like the airplane, the body of Christ does not happen automatically or by accident, but by believers making needed adjustments, Hebrews 10:24-25.
Unity, the Church being together, is vitally important to God’s plan and our desires. Why would God ask that we not forsake being together? The Scripture just listed above indicates that blessing each other is what we are supposed to be doing. We are called to live our lives with one another so much that we spur one another on to live out the gospel message as many others as possible.
I have spoken to churches around world and often take a puzzle with me to make my point to indicate the work God wants us each to do in one another’s lives. I hold u the puzzle box explaining that that pieces are in the box, when put together are a beautiful picture. I rattle the box so they can hear the pieces that are disconnected, thus the picture on the top of the puzzle box is the coming together of the all pieces. When the puzzle is assembled others can see the beautiful picture make up of all the pieces that was in the box. When the pieces are put together they become to large for the box. When Jesus’ Churches, like the puzzle pieces come together in unity we make a beautiful picture than can be seen around the world accomplishing what God called us to do as the body of Christ.
The Church I just described will not fit into one box, but until Jesus church pieces assembled in unity as one gloriously and beautiful picture of God’s love, it will continue to be difficult for non-Christians to see the glory of the body of Christ in action within towns, cities, states, countries as one picture they want to be part of. God’s design is and has always been to use the local churches to impact entire communities, which will impact the entire world.
Yes, in the days we live, the Lord has declared He is going to move in mighty ways throughout the land through His Church, not buildings or organizations, but His Body of Believers. Yes again, the entire body of Christ is made up of many, many parts known as His Saints. To make this point more clearly, read these few Scriptures from Bible: Romans 12:4-5 – 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 – 1 Corinthians 12:12-13, 26:27 – Ephesians 4:4, 15:16) – Ephesians 5:30-32) – Colossians 1:18 – Colossians 2:29. I hope these verses get into your spirit like they do mine.
