Taken from my book “Step Into His Presence”, chapter 7 titled “Revivals That Reach Entire Community” of 14 chapters. Without doubt the body of Christ today may need a Holy Spirit powered revival. Christ’s body may need another great revival for both those already on pews, as well as the lost. Jesus does not send revival so to just build up numbers. He sends revival as a result of actively that’s seeking His presence. Revival is not a two or three day scheduled event. Spirit powered revival is a result of already praying, worshipping and seeking His presence. A major reason revival is missing today may also be a result of slumbering in traditions that do not produce results, just mental. This can causes unbelief and a lack of trust in the Word. A True Holy Ghost revival requires a Holy Ghost fire already burning in the church and its community.
The very first step toward a true Holy Spirit Revival is for local church to encourage itself to seek a Holy Ghost’s presence that draws attention of the community, who today is looking for help and hope. Without any doubt, Jesus actually wants to send a Revival Fire more than most Christians. Before Christians can experience true revival, it may require a deeper spiritual commitment on their own part
Many Christians think of revival as just another scheduled event. This idea doesn’t work well because a Godly revival comes from the Spirit of Christians already seeking more of God, not just more people. God does wants to send revival, but as a blessing, it isn’t to get worship started, it’s to carry it out even greater. Yes, God want to send revival five throughout the body of Christ. Lack of revival problem is not God, He’s waiting on us to get revival started.
The church that remains inactive will not create the respect of community needed for revival. When the world can’t see difference between church life and their lifestyle, they will continue to look in other places for help. True revival fire is a divine response to a worshiping church. Divine revival draws the eyes of the community back toward His church body. This is why I believe the Lord gave me the vision of His Throne room with doors open and His children standing outside. Revival is about believers moving forward not waiting for Jesus to do the work. It is when the church moves forward that Spiritual revival is born. And right now the world needs a bold church marching forward and leading others. If the church is Jesus’ answer to this world, this world needs to be in motion. Jesus actually said it best to the servant, go out into the highway and hedges, and compel them to come in, that My house may be filled, Luke 14:23.
The Church, which is the body of Christ, may need both a, David facing Goliath faith and a Abraham and Elijah faith focused on revival. Lord gave me a Prophetic Word on this very subject: “I love to hear your praises. I love to ride on waves of your worship. I told My church, if you want Me, worship Me. I have reached out and told My Church I am here and all you have to do is touch Me. Have I not shown you the presence I have is good for you. I love to hear your voices, I love to hear your songs, and I love to hear your hearts. I look through storms you walk through and I hear your voice and come to you. Do you not know that if you want to walk through a storm, walk with Me. If you want to hold back storms of your life, walk with me. If you want to see abundance flow to you, walk with me. The things you long for, I have, and I want to give to you. I love to ride the waves of your worship and float among you. Reach out for Me, touch Me with your heart, I am reaching out to you”.
When my wife and I started church at age 26, instead of just asking people to visit our church, we tried to get them saved to bring to church, sometimes it worked other times we just brought them to church. Today, years later we see Jesus is saying to His believers that it’s time to stop hiding and start moving toward victory. The world needs to see the image of Jesus actually working before they take the church serious. Mark 9:23 says it best: “All things are possible to him who believes”. He’s right, it time to reach out for them instead of hoping they’ll just show up on some Sunday. Yes, sometimes church is a lot like a ladder that hold one person per step going to heaven. As they climb they are reaching down with one hand helping those get through the steps they were just in. With the other hand raised upward they are getting help to the next step upward. The point is this: when we are traveling toward heaven we need the help of those ahead of us, and we need to also help those behind us reach the step we are on. Yes, church is about being helped while also helping others, which produces great revivals.
