First, it’s important to remember that Jesus really doesn’t owe us anything. Yet, He has a wonderful reward for all believers. So the idea of getting saved is an automatic qualification into everything good without problems is not wise. A victorious lifestyle with enormous success going our way with no problems is not the enjoyment Jesus spoke of during his time of gathering. Yes, it requires victory over something before we can call it victorious. So, it does require God’s Spirit working through us to create the victorious life of abundance Jesus said he came to give us in John 10:10 “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly”.
The beauty of walking with Jesus is that we are surrounded with the same protection he had while on earth. We can also expect Godly spiritual promotions as well as physically. That is when we start noticing that true Christians do not fall from God, they just give up. Another truth is that no one who stays close to Jesus fails. This is because Jesus never fails so if we are walking with him how can we fail. Sure, there will be times we feel that we’re failing, but if we keep walking forward with him we will overcome the problem or destroy it.
God’s Word assures us that our Godliness is profitable with everything that Jesus has for us as long as we don’t give up first. It is also interesting to note that people who give up and backslide do not leave church and then backslide. They actually backslide as they sit in pews, then they leave the church. It is true that we live in a time that is referred to as Jesus’ gathering time. The Old Testament prophets prophesied that God’s people would walk in a special anointing during dark days. Plus, through his people his glory would light up a path others could follow safely.
Also, Paul a New Testament Apostle called this time the Fullness of Times. A time that both Jesus and his Church would walk together as one body spread over all the lands. Today, we are seeing this happening around the world, Christian churches coming together instead of running each other down over their manmade doctrines instead of the Word of God. No, I am not talking about a one world church where everyone worships different gods. Those are the false teachers the Bible warned us of. I am talking about Holy Ghost filled Saints of the true God working together winning souls to Christ as Jesus’ prayed for in John 17:20-26.
So, major question may pop up: do people want to know if they are in Christ Jesus? They should, because we are in the last days and Jesus’ body cannot be stopped. This means we live in the greatest time in Church history. But does the church know this. We are made in God’s image that makes us the light and life Jesus preached to those living in darkness and defeat. Christians should be asking Jesus to increase their light. There is no such thing as too old or too young. Today Christians have greatest opportunity in history of helping Jesus set up His return.
When we let Jesus become our life then he becomes our teacher, our righteousness, guide, our strength and all that pertains to life on earth and in heaven. God’s blessings are part of himself that fills us with light and life. The greatest miracle we could joyfully hope for as we walk toward our eternal life is walking in the footsteps of Jesus. “If My people, which are called by My Name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; I will hear from heaven and forgive them”. How can anyone beat this? It’s obvious it does not come from this world. Our hope for a life of abundant is what Jesus promised. He Himself said He did not know of any other God.
